Google Search Console's AI reports are live worldwide. Here's what agencies should do Monday.
As of August 31, 2026, Google says its generative AI performance insights in Search Console are rolled out to all websites worldwide. That is the line agencies need on the Monday stand-up. Not a rumor. Not a UK-only pilot. The note sits on the Search Central blog that introduced the reports, on the help page for the Search generative AI control, and in a footnote on Google's June website-owners announcement.
Search Engine Journal covered the completion of the rollout. Google's own posts and help docs define what the reports show and what they still leave out. Creative Marketing should treat this as a productizable reading service next to GEO and AI visibility on the OpenSEO instance we already run at openseo.creativemarketing.ai/mcp. Do not send anyone to openseo.so. Do not stand up a second OpenSEO.
What Google actually shipped
On June 3, 2026, Google Search Central announced dedicated Search Generative AI performance reports in Search Console for Search and Discover. The same day, the Keyword blog post New opportunities, control and insights for website owners introduced the reports and a property-level opt-out control, and began testing with a subset of UK website owners.
The Search Central post is clear on the first metrics: impressions (how often URLs from your site appeared in generative AI features), pages, countries, devices for Search, and dates with hourly through monthly granularity. That data also continues to sit inside the overall performance report. Google launched a separate view dedicated to generative AI visibility so owners are not forced to hunt for it inside the classic web report alone.
Help Center documentation for the generative AI performance report (Search) states that as of August 31, 2026 the insights are rolled out worldwide. The report covers impressions from AI Overviews and AI Mode. Discover has its own generative AI performance report. Search Labs experiments are excluded. Impressions count how many times links to your site were shown in a generative AI feature. Chart totals aggregate by property; page-dimension tables aggregate by page. Newest points can be preliminary (dotted line). The usual Search Console row and time limits apply. Export is available.
Search Engine Journal's write-up matches the official dimensions: impressions from AI Overviews, AI Mode, and generative AI features in Discover, by page, country, and date, with a device breakdown on the Search report. Click data is not included as of that coverage. Google has also said sites without enough AI impressions may not see a report. Help pages still noted that not every property had access while rollout continued, even as the worldwide note landed.
Google's June consumer-facing post also put scale numbers next to the control story: AI Overviews over 2.5 billion monthly active users, AI Mode past one billion monthly users. Those are Google's figures for product reach. They are not Creative Marketing case studies. Use them as context for why clients ask about AI Search. Do not invent CTR from them.
What the opt-out control does (and does not)
The Search generative AI control is a property-specific setting in Search Console Settings. It lets owners exclude site links and content from the same three surfaces the reports evaluate: AI Overviews, AI Mode, and generative AI in Discover. Sites that opt out do not get traffic or impressions from those features.
Google states the setting is not used as a ranking signal for classic Search results outside those generative AI features. It is separate from Google-Extended, which governs AI training crawls. Confusing those two toggles in a client call is an easy way to look careless. Keep the language precise: one control is about appearing in AI Search features; the other is about training data.
The UK Competition and Markets Authority context matters for agencies that sell compliance-aware advice. SEJ notes the CMA required an opt-out without penalty in standard search, and that Google has until March 2027 for page-level controls and is expected to work toward click-through data. Monday's worldwide note did not announce click reporting. Do not promise clients clicks in GSC AI reports that are not there yet.
Monday checklist for every client property
Open Search Console. Confirm the property is verified. Look for the generative AI performance report for Search, and Discover if the site is eligible. If the report is missing, check three things before you escalate: rollout lag still called out on help pages, insufficient AI impressions, and whether the site opted out of Search generative AI features.
If the report is present, export the last 28 days. Sort by pages. Note the top URLs by AI impressions and the countries driving them. On Search, note device mix. Screenshot the chart with preliminary data called out so nobody treats last night's dotted points as final.
Compare those AI-impression URLs to the classic web performance report. You want a short list of pages that already earn classic impressions and also show up in AI features, plus pages that appear in AI features but are thin, duplicate, or not the commercial landing page you would rather cite.
Do not flip the opt-out on a hunch. The reports exist so owners can see appearance before they decide. If a publisher's business model depends on clicks that AI features do not yet report, that is a strategy conversation with incomplete data, not a one-click panic toggle.
Document whether Google-Extended is already set at the crawl layer. Keep that decision separate from the Search generative AI appearance control.
How to productize this on CMA's OpenSEO stack
Creative Marketing already runs OpenSEO with DataForSEO and GA. The offer is not "buy another dashboard." The offer is a weekly or monthly AI visibility readout that includes GSC generative AI impressions next to GEO prompt checks.
Package it like this.
Baseline: connect GSC for the client property. Confirm whether the generative AI report is visible. Export impressions by page and country. Record the date of the worldwide rollout note so the lookback window is honest.
GEO panel: five commercial prompts on the existing OpenSEO instance. Snapshot which URLs get cited across the AI surfaces you already measure. Map those URLs against the GSC AI impression leaders. Gaps are the punch list.
Content and site work: unique, non-commodity pages; clear organization; solid page experience; useful images and video. That language is in Google's own updated AI optimization guidance linked from the June website-owners post. Sell the rebuild or content sprint against that checklist, not against invented ranking guarantees.
Reporting: one slide that shows AI impressions (GSC), classic Search clicks where available, and GEO citation presence. Label what is impression-only. Never invent a click-through rate for AI Overviews from data that is not in the report.
Retain: monthly export, delta on top pages, country shifts, and a note if the report disappears because impressions dropped below Google's threshold. That last point is easy to miss and easy to explain once you have said it out loud.
What not to tell the client
Do not say the opt-out is a ranking signal for classic blue links. Google says it is not.
Do not say these reports include clicks. They do not, as of the sources above.
Do not say every site will see the report. Low AI impressions or opt-out can hide it. Help docs still mentioned incomplete property access during rollout.
Do not mash Google-Extended and the Search generative AI control into one sentence.
Do not claim CMA case studies with invented impression lifts. Use the client's own GSC export. Cite Google and SEJ for product facts only.
Do not promise that appearing in AI Overviews equals pipeline. Impressions are visibility. Pipeline still needs a site that converts, an answer path that reaches a human or an AI receptionist, and an offer worth citing.
Where this sits next to existing CMA offers
GEO / AEO / AI visibility on openseo.creativemarketing.ai/mcp is the measurement spine. GSC AI reports are the first-party Google receipt for the same conversation. Sell them together.
Web rebuild remains the foundation when the pages that earn AI impressions are the wrong URLs, thin service pages, or slow templates. Fix the cite-worthy page before you argue with the model.
AI automation belongs in the reporting lane: scheduled GSC export, prompt panel refresh, human-reviewed weekly note. Agents draft. Humans send.
AI receptionist belongs when AI Search and classic Search both drive calls. Visibility without answer rate is a leak.

Monday is not a strategy offsite. Monday is: open GSC, confirm the AI report, export pages and countries, run the five-prompt GEO panel on the OpenSEO instance you already have, and put impression-only data on a slide that does not pretend to be clicks. That is the agency motion Google just made easier to sell.
